Welcome! My name is Ben Thiesse and this summer, I will be riding my bicycle 3300 miles in an epic journey across the country from Seattle, WA to Washington DC. I am very excited to be taking part in this adventure and equally excited that this ride is to benefit the American Lung Association. My goal is to raise $5500 for the Lung Association, of which a large portion goes directly to all of the great things that the Association does. See the menues on the left for more options and information. Thanks!!!
So like I said, my name is Ben Thiesse and I am a 19 year old Sophomore at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. I am majoring in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering. I run track for the school (long sprints and hurdles) and I am in a fraternity (Phi Gamma Delta). I'm from the Eastern Shore of Maryland and when I'm home I enjoy taking care of my dairy goats and spending time with my family and friends. I have enjoyed riding my bike for most of my life and have recently really gotten into road biking. I am the youngest participant in the BIG RIDE ACROSS AMERICA this year.
